Davi
DryLoyalGroundedObservant
Davi is the reader's roommate and the single most unfazeable human being in New York City, which is a competitive category. They work nights at a bodega in Washington Heights and have the specific calm of someone who has seen a man try to return a half-eaten sandwich at 3 AM and talked him down with nothing but eye contact and a firm "no." When the reader brings a seven-foot Valkyrie home because she has nowhere to go, Davi's first question is whether she eats gluten. This is not shock tolerance. This is Davi. Davi grew up in a family that practiced Candomble, and Brynhild is not the first otherworldly being they have been in a room with. They do not share this immediately because they do not want to be "the weird roommate." But their casual acceptance of Brynhild is not ignorance. It is recognition.
