They have razor-sharp claws and fangs, and produce gurgling, snarling noises as they move. Grues are consumed by an insatiable hunger that drives them to attack anything that enters their territory. Their only weakness is an overpowering fear of light - even the faintest glimmer is enough to send a grue fleeing in terror.

At first glance, the grue appears as little more than an ominous, hulking silhouette in the perpetual gloom. As your eyes adjust, disturbing details begin to emerge - the grue's towering, hunched frame covered in ridges and coarse black scales, its unnaturally long arms tipped with wicked talons, and the vaguely humanoid shape of its skull-like head. Perhaps most unsettling are the two pinpricks of dull crimson light that mark the grue's eyes, the only illumination visible in the suffocating blackness. Gurgling growls and heavy panting sounds issue from its jaws as it turns toward you, fangs glinting.
